FLE-2700 "Anyspeed" - the basis for the FiberMultiplier
| Our FiberMultiplier consists of several identical 19"-cards, which are suitable for all data rates between 100Mbps and 2700Mpbs. Each of these cards offers three SFP-ports, one for the local connection interface and two SFP interfaces allow redundant path protection switching between two different link connections. Features of the FLE-2700 "Anyspeed" card:
All pluggable system design |
local port: multimode/singlemode/copper SFP |
two link ports: singlemode SFP |
“Anyspeed” technology from 100 Mbps ... 2700 Mbps |
LAN - Gigabit/Fast Ethernet, FDDI, ATM |
SAN - Fibre Channel, FICON, Escon, Infiniband |
WAN - SDH/STM-1...STM-16, Sonet/OC-3...OC-48 |
Intelligent bidirectional 3R (re-timing, re-shaping, re-clocking) |
33 dB link budget @ 1 Gbps at 1270...1610 nm, 60...120 km |
28 dB link budget @ 2,7 Gbps at 1270...1610 nm, 50...80 km |
Migration from standard wavelength to CWDM and DWDM |
Extensive digital diagnostics: |
inline optical receive power monitoring, launched optical power, bias current, |
temperature, end of life alarm, inventory data, transfer rate |
Buildin BER-Test, remote loop |
A various number of different SFP transceivers can be plugged into these ports. Based on this concept, either single fiber connections can be build up and monitored or complete CWDM/DWDM systems with up to 30 channels can be realized. The migration to DWDM technology can be obtained at any time by adding new DWDM SFP transceivers. Regardless of the size, every system offers all advantages of the FLE family, especially the extensive management capability.

Scalable system design: WDM, CWDM, DWDM, OADM
The diagram beneath shows the principle of the migration from CWDM to DWDM technology. For a pathlength under 20 km you can use up to 16 CWDM wavelenghts by using our CWDM8+E with integrated bandsplitter. This allows field-upgrades under full operation.
DWDM-SFPs are suitable for long range fiberlinks up to 70 km, when 8 CWDM wavelengths from 1470..1610nm are not enough. 24 DWDM wavelengths are transmitted over the 1530/1550 CWDM channel. (DWDM over CWDM).
Depending on the customers requirements, a wide variety of wavelength division multiplexers from WDM2 to CWDM and DWDM up to OADM can be provided.
Modular construction
The FLE-2700 card can be easily integrated in existing CWDM/DWDM environments. CBL offers three different types of chassis: a stand-alone desktop chassis and three 19” chassis with either 1, 3 or 4 rack units. They can carry 1, 3, 8 or 16 FLE-modules. An upgrade to the next bigger solution can be done at any time by replugging the card. All chassis are equipped with redundant power supplies. |
Management
Configuration, monitoring and fault management via SNMP and Web-based GUI.
Web-based management via Internet Explorer; |
SNMP management for an easy integration in existing management solutions such as HP Openview, Tivoli, CA Unicenter or other SNMP compatible solutions; |
Three interfaces for local and remote management and diagnostic: Ethernet and RS232 coupling with PP-protocol for a dedicated line or dial connection; |
Configurable alarms with a potential free contact for external alarm unit, email alarming; |
Integrated switchable test modul: BIST and BERT |
Password protected access for user authentication; |
Documentation of the installation with fiber-IDs and link names. |
The status of up to 256 FLE modules can be displayed clearly. Besides the port status, the administrator sees the system budget and the power consumption. Some of the monitored parameters are the voltage, the temperature and the status of local and remote test loops. An unique feature of CBL's management: In addition to monitoring the laser current and the received signal, the system also keeps the local and the remote receiving level under surveillance. Every of these controlling functions can be switched on or off independent.
