Full bandwith for Fast- and Gigabit-Ethernet: The AirLaser

AirlaserEspecially for IP-transmission, CBL has developed the AirLaser. The built-in backup system of the Fast Ethernet model enhances the AirLaser to be used reasonable in regions with snowfall and fog, too. Furthermore the AirLaser offers an extensive SNMP- and Web-based management as well as a complete modular system concept.

Key features of the AirLaser family:

Airlaser Blockschaltbild
Wireless optical link for distances up to 2 km
Optimized for full duplex Fast Ethernet transmissions with 100 Mbps and
Gigabit Ethernet transmissions with 1250 Mbps
Finally weather independent operation possible! 99.99 % availability guaranteed by means of integrated licence-free radio link as back-up. Permanent monitoring of the optical link enables automatic switching
Extensive inband management via SNMP agent or web-based with standard web browsers such as Netscape or Internet Explorer at the AirLaser IP100, outband management with identical functionality at the AirLaser IP1000
Alarm messages can be transmitted to a maximum of four email addresses
Redundant power supply with automatic switching from 230 or 115 VAC and additional 48 VDC as standard

Four state-of-the-art VCSEL-laser diodes act as transmitters. In spite of their high output power, the devices are compliant to laser safety class 1M, that means they are eyesafe. The application, the management and the microwave backup modul are arranged around the optical system. The application modul provides the interfaces for the customers network and is also responsible for controlling the receiving and the transmitting units.
