With this configuration a lot of problems can occur, because of the great number of different devices involved. Using the AirLaser avoids all these problems. All components required for the optical path, the backup path and the switching equipment are fully integrated in the AirLaser.

With the AirLaser the data rate is 100 Mpbs full duplex with an availability of more than 99%. In case the optical path is interrupted, the integrated license free backup takes over with reduced bandwidth. It's directly connected to the integrated management system. The switching takes place completely automatic, because the optical path is permanently monitored. The AirLaser switches back to the optical path, as soon as it is reestablished.
